REED, Joan Marie (Gillert) – of Davison, MI, age 62, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017. A Funeral Service will be held 10 AM Friday, January 27, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423, Chaplain Todd A. Gillert officiating. Private interment in Lakeville Cemetery, Leonard, MI. The family will receive visitors 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Thursday, January 26, 2017 and 9-10 AM Friday, January 27, 2017 at the funeral home.
Joan was born in Lansing, MI on December 22, 1954, daughter of the late Arnold and Morrine (Wade) Gillert. She married R. Larry Reed on October 4, 1981. Joan was employed with General Motors Service Parts as a Staff Assistant in Engineering Support, retiring in 2009 after 30 years of service. She was a member of Journey Ministries a contemporary church in Davison, MI. Joan enjoyed motorcycle trips with her husband, quilting, bicycling and Bible Study Fellowship. She especially loved spending time with her grandsons.
Joan is survived by her husband of 35 years, R. Larry Reed; son, Robin (Casey) Reed; 2 grandsons, Talon and Cayson Reed; 2 brothers, Arnie (Laura) Gillert and Todd (Renee´) Gillert; sister, June (Paul) Amman; aunt, Frieda Motcheck; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jeanne Gillert.
