Darby, Arthur Leo, Jr., of Flushing, age 90, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, at his residence. Cremation has taken place. A memorial Mass will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at St. Robert Catholic Church in Flushing. Fr. Gordon Reigle will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 10 until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Saint. Louis, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County. Mr. Darby was born in Flushing, MI July 28, 1928, the son of Arthur Leo and Marjorie Frawley Darby. He married Evelyn M. Warne in Flushing in 1976. She preceded him in death on Feb. 23, 2017. Mr. Darby was a Veteran of the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Tech. He was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church of Flushing.
He had been a Tool and Die Maker at Buick Motor Division for over 30 years, retiring in 1976. He owned and operated Flushing Towing for over 50 years, and he owned an apple orchard and farmed on his own land. Surviving are his stepson, Michael (Mick) and wife Val Warne of St. Louis, MI; 2 step-grandchildren, Sydney and Jamie; brother, David and wife Christine Darby of Grand Blanc, MI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Darby and sister, Catherine Lowery. |
