Mr. Compton 57 passed away suddenly Saturday November 29, 2014 at McLaren-Bay following a heart attack. He was born in Flint on September 7, 1957 to the late Richard J. & Patricia (Neuville) Compton. Bob was a salesman in the auto parts industry in the Flint and Gaylord areas for many years last working for Auto-wares. He owned the White Birch Motel in Gaylord, and was the President for the Alpine Snowmobile Club for many years where he enjoyed the winters riding snowmobiles and guiding on the trails. Bob loved golfing and being with friends and family. He was a devoted member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church serving as Head trustee & working with Viade-Crosto in the prison ministry and the youth challenge. He shared in the operating of the Wishingwell Flower Shop for the several years.
He is survived by the love of his live and wife Becky and his children Jessica Compton and Jacob Compton; his sister Lois Ann (David) Cameron; brothers Donald (Joan) Compton, John (Denise) Compton and Phillip (Tami) Compton and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday December 3, 2014 at 11 am from St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor David Jung presiding with cremation to follow. Family will greet friends at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Pinconning Chapel on Tuesday from 1 to 8 pm. On Wednesday Bob will lie in state at church from 10 am until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. John’s Lutheran Church or the wishes of the family.
