Charles Ted Eckert, Jr., age 62 of Flint, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019. He was born November 11, 1956 in Flint to parents Charles Sr. and Barbara (Peters) Eckert. Chuck proudly served four years in the US Air Force, and recently retired from GM after 32 years of service. Chuck loved the outdoors, working in his yard, and on his cars. He was a dedicated father and husband. He was fiercely loyal to his many friends and was deeply loved and respected by his large extended family. Chuck is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary Eckert; son, Phillip Eckert; mother, Barbara Eckert; sister, Laurie (Mike) Martin and nephew, Brett Eckert. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Eckert, Sr. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 4 to 8 pm at the Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing, and again on Monday, July 8th , from 10 to 11 am, followed by the funeral service. Interment will take place the following day, Tuesday, July 9th at Great Lakes National Cemetery with military service beginning at 1:15 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Humane Society of Genesee County in memory of Chuck. |
