THOMAS, Dorothy May. – of Mt. Morris, age 86, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at her residence. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial Service will be held 2PM Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home Saturday from 12PM until the time of service. Contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society.
Dorothy was born October 13, 1929 in Flint, Michigan to the late Chester and Alice (Powers) Thomas. She attended Flint Public Schools and later the Flint Art Institute. Dorothy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the Mt. Morris Senior Center. She was a lover of all animals and MacGyver. She enjoyed drawing comic strips for friends and family and was very loyal to everyone. Dorothy was known around the neighborhood for her three wheel bicycle and carting around the neighbor kids and family in her basket. She would also mow her lawn with her conductor hat on. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: Sister in law, Doris Fern Thomas; Nieces: Janet Remenecz, Deborah Huckabey, Sherry Young, Terry Braun and Dawn Howell; Nephews: David Howell, Mark Howell and John Thomas; Great-nephews: Alex, Aaron Joey and Shane; Great-nieces: Angie and Desiree; Many great-great nieces and nephews; Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother, John Thomas and sister, Betty Howell.
