COASTER, Kenneth B. "Ken" - of Clio, age 66, died on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 AM, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at SS Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Fr. Bob McGraw officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery at 9:30 AM on Monday, April 29, 2013. Military honors provided by the Clio VFW Post # 1452. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Friday from 1-8 PM, with a 7 PM Prayer Service. Contributions may be made to the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge.

Ken was born November 16, 1946 in Bad Axe, Michigan to the late Benjamin and Gladys (Mausolf) Coaster. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Mt. Morris in 1965. Ken was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War during 1967-1969. He married Renée Princinsky on August 7, 1971 and had resided in Clio the past 30 years. Ken retired as a pipefitter from AC SparkPlug with 28 years seniority and was a member of UAW Local #651. He was also formerly a member of Plumber and Pipefitters Union Local #370. Ken was a member of SS Charles and Helena Catholic Church and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus #4285 of Mt. Morris. He volunteered for the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge where he was the 2005 Volunteer of the Year, and especially enjoyed volunteering with disabled participants. Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman, who enjoyed golfing, shelling and spending his winters in Florida with his Bonita Lake Resort Family.

He was a loving husband to his wife Renée; a wonderful role model and loving father to his children, Kevin, Kristi and Mark; a loving Papa to his grandchildren, Taylor, Kaden, Nicholas, Gavin and Elli; twin sister, Kay Bois; brothers, Gary (Terri) Coaster and Robert (Cheryl) Coaster; and many other family and friends. Ken was also preceded in death by: his brother-in-law, Daniel Bois; niece, Danell. Special thanks to Dr. Rizwan Danish and his caring chemotherapy staff at Genesee Cancer and Blood Disease Treatment Center.
