STRATTON, Eldon W. - Of Flint and Grand Blanc, age 85, died Friday, June 3, 2011 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 11a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Father Douglas Osborn officiating.
Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Visitation 2-8p.m. Sunday, 2-8p.m. Monday and 10a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Eldon was born in Flint on September 23, 1925 and was a resident of Flint all of his life. He married Theresa "Peggy" Himmelspach on April 22, 1950 in Pontiac. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of VFW Post 4087. Mr. Stratton was employed by Buick Motor Division for 39 1/2 years, retiring on February 1, 1986. Surviving are son, Wayne E. and wife Mary of Grand Blanc; Grandchildren, Nicole (Scott) Westcott, Sarah (Gregg) Kirk, Danna Burns and Scott Terry, Bryce (Jenny) McGovern;
Great-grandchildren, Devon Burns, Madison Westcott and Morgan Westcott; Many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, on September 7, 2000; 5 sisters and 1 brother. Your condolences may be shared with the family at swartzfuneralhomeinc.com
