BROOKS, Betty M. – of Mt. Morris, age 90, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 520 Butler St. in Clio. Pastor Erik Cloeter officiating. Private burial in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 4-8 PM and on Tuesday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM. Contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church.
Betty was born August 26, 1926 in Detroit to the late John and Marie (Hamm) Fendt and was a resident of the Flint area most of her life. She was united in marriage to Jack D. Brooks on March 3, 1945. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1982. Mrs. Brooks retired from Consumers Power Company. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Betty enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, and enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children: Terry Brooks of Mt. Morris, Randy (Barbara) Brooks of Prudenville, Paula Brooks of Mt. Morris; Grandchildren: Tony (Grace) Brooks, Sara (Derek) Dafoe, Jason (Jill) Brooks, Brian (Shannon) Brooks; Great-grandchildren: Lexi Brooks, Travis Brooks, Gary May, Alex May, Peyton Dafoe, Drew Dafoe, Stella Dafoe, Dylan Brooks, Jameson Brooks, Jaxon Brooks, Cody Brooks; Great-great-grandchildren: Adalynn May and Paisley May; many nieces and nephews and many friends.
