PITTS, Mr. Samuel -age 81 passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at his residence. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012 family hour 10:30 a.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel G-2340 W. Carpenter Rd. Flint, MI. Chaplain Don Bennett officiating. Interment Great Lakes Cemetery Holly, MI. Mr. Pitts will repose at Serenity Funeral Chapel Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. for public visitation.
Mr. Samuel Pitts a resident of Flint, MI was born August 17, 1931 in Pine Bluff Arkansas son of Dave Pitts Sr. and Rosie Lee Warren. Mr. Pitts attended Flint Community Schools graduating from Central High School, he also served in the Korean War in the 1950's. Previously employed as manager of Contos Car Wash and also worked for General Motors, Mr. Pitts was a very caring and loving person who enjoyed fishing as a pastime.
Mr. Pitts leaves to cherish his memory: step children, Sophia Wilkerson and Lenord Brezell a host of grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. Step-Father Herbert Warren, sisters; Earsline Tyree and Valerie Coulter, brother; John H. Pitts, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, sisters-in-law; Alicia Y. Pitts, Lynda Pitts, and brother-in-law Lonnie Coulter.
Mr. Samuel Pitts was preceded in death by parents; Dave Pitts and Rosie Lee Warren, spouse; Martha Pitts, brother; Dave (Bo) Pitts and daughter; Tanya (Cookie) McBride, stepdaughter; Veronica Franklin and special friend Frank Poplar.
The family would like to express special thanks to: Avalon Hospice and Wellbrook, niece Nora Luplow, sister Valerie and caregivers.
