HEWITT, Betty A. – of Burton, age 97, passed away September 18, 2017 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in West Vienna Cemetery, Clio. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Wednesday and 12-1 PM Thursday.
Betty was born in Flint, MI on June 2, 1920, daughter of the late Glen and Geraldine (Ambose) Alexander. She married John Hewitt on March 14, 1940 and he preceded her in death on January 31, 2016. Betty worked at the Fair store for more than 20 years. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband, gardening, bird watching and traveling.
Betty is survived by her children, Glen (Barb) Hewitt, Barb Deggendorf, Cheryl Herfurth; nine grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; brother, Arthur Alexander; sister, Sylvia Blondin. She was preceded in death by her son Gerald and sister, Peggy Smith.
