PAYNTER, Melba A. – Of Flint, age 94, died Friday, August 26, 2016 at Fostrian Court.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Monday, August 29, 2016 at South Baptist Church, G4091 Van Slyke, Flint,
Pastor Larry Burk and Scott Snyder officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Carriage Town Mission or South Baptist Church.
Visitation 12-3pm and 5-8pm Sunday at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Melba was born in Campbell, Missouri on August 10, 1922, the daughter of Olan B. and Rena Jane (James) Goodnight.
Surviving are son, Charles and wife Sandra Spencer of East Tawas;
daughter, Patricia and husband Terry Schneider of Swartz Creek;
4 grandchildren, Timothy and wife Tamara Schneider of Swartz Creek, Troy and wife Jenifer Schneider of Tampa, FL, Charles Spencer, Jr. and wife Melissa of Grand Blanc and Michael Spencer and wife Melissa of Woodbury, MN;
8 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Tryston, Chase and Sydney Spencer and Kaylie, Amanda, Bethany and Mary Schneider;
great-great-grandsons, Isaac and Eli Spencer;
several nieces and nephews;
special neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick W. on July 13, 1996; parents and her brothers, Duane P. Goodnight and William Goodnight.
