Frances Helen Santa went to her eternal home on Wednesday July 1, 2020. She was born on June 3, 1929 to Mary and Joseph Jadczak in Flint, Michigan. She attended All Saints Schools and graduated in 1947. Frances married James Santa on July 30, 1949. Jim and Fran attended All Saints Catholic Church. They celebrated 65 years of marriage until Jim's passing in 2014. Frances worked for the Westwood Heights School District and spent 23 years managing "Fran's Snack Shack." She and Jim enjoyed dancing, the casino, cooking together, playing cards, partying, laughing and joking around with their good friends. But most of all, Frances loved being around her family - going out to eat, family gatherings, playing bingo and gardening.
Frances leaves to cherish her memory daughter Valerie and husband, Mark Zwerk; son Ken and wife, Gail Santa; son Jim Santa and Viola. Grandchildren Marc Santa; Garrett Zwerk, Hannah Zwerk; Natalie Santa; sister Elaine and husband, Jim Fielbrandt; also several nieces and nephews, and many good friends. She was predeceased by husband, Jim; her parents, Mary and Joseph Jadczak; in-laws Mary and Joseph Santa; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. All those who went before her will welcome her home with open arms for what will undoubtedly be a festive reunion in heaven.
If Frances were still with us, she would want to thank her children for helping her enjoy the best quality of life possible in her later years and for all the help and support taking her to appointments, dialysis, and for unselfishly being there whenever needed. Frances would also want to thank the wonderful people of Fresenius Dialysis Center (and especially Brian, Gerald, and Ryan) who helped her and kept her smiling each and every time she came in.
Frances fought her way through many medical adversities over the last several years, but her unwavering will to survive, her love for God and family, and a determination to enjoy life to the fullest even up to her last days on earth, will be her legacy.
Per Fran's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2020 at St. Charles and Helena Catholic Church, 230 E. Vienna in Clio, Michigan, with Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no family visitation inside the church, prior to service. Family asks that memorials be directed to St. Jude's Children's Foundation or the donor's choice.
Private interment will occur at a later date.
