SHAHEEN, Shaheen – Of Flint, age 86, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family Monday, November 30, 2015 at McLaren-Flint.
Shaheen was born in Flint, Michigan on June 21, 1929, the son of the late Abraham and Helena (Monsour) Shaheen.
On April 3, 1954 he married Rose Woodell in Flint; together they raised 6 beautiful children.
Shaheen could not love or be more proud of his beautiful children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered by those who knew and loved him, as a caring and loving man, a thoughtful and selfless Shepherd of God, who would give you the last dollar in his pocket with a smile on his face.
Mr. Shaheen owned and operated Flint Bonding Service for more than 50 years in addition to Ali Baba's and Aladdin's Bar. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially loved being with his family. He was also a founding member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church
.
Shaheen graduated from Northern High School, and attended Hillsdale College and Michigan State College.
Shaheen served in the US Army, where he was stationed and played football in Germany.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church 4133 Calkins Road, Flint, Father Pierre Bassil officiating.
Mr. Shaheen will be at the church from 9 a.m. Thursday until the time of the Liturgy.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
A Prayer of Incense service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Shaheen T. Shaheen,
Karen (Aaron) Pitcher,
Jennifer (Danny) Olsen;
grandchildren, Bryan (Brandy) Potter, Lisa and Amy Shaheen, Jaime Burley, John Abdella, Michael (Megan) Burley, Kellie(Chris) Renfro, Lauren Abdella, Lindsey Olsen(fiance’ Corey Aitken), Daniel Olsen, Madison and Jacob Pitcher;
great-grandchildren, Mikailyn Shaheen, Bryce Potter, Trevor Shaheen, Brynne Potter, Brianna Shaheen, CJ Shaheen and Easton Burley;
brothers, Joseph Shaheen and Monsour (Elsie) Shaheen;
sisters, Louise Rizk and Marie Daher;
many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Mary Abdella; brothers, Louis(Liz) Shaheen and John(Jeanne) Shaheen and sister, Annie(Joe) David and sister-in-law Marjorie Shaheen.
