EVAN STUART GARDNER, Age 21. Born September 10, 1996 in Flint, MI. Passed September 17, 2017 in Harrison Twp. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11am at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel, Pastor Eric Johnson will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 5-8pm and again on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 1-4pm.
Evan was an inspiration of kindness, goodwill, humor, and courtesy to all who met or knew him. He was truly loved by everyone. Evan graduated from Durand HS in 2015 where he excelled in academics, vocal music, cross country, track and tennis. Evan attended Michigan Tech and planned to begin at Mott CC in 2018 to pursue the Electrician program. Evan worked as the Assistant Manager at U-haul of St Clair Shores where he was known for his hard work and dedication. Evan loved life, people, pets, cars, music, and the outdoors. He was a proud Christian and a member of the Duffield United Methodist Church.
Evan is survived by Debbie (mother) & David Smith (step-father) and Craig Gardner (father) & Gloria Norton (step-mother), Alex Gardner (brother) and Julia Smith (step-sister). Evan was also the grandson of Lovell & Vivian Gunsell (maternal) and Mel (deceased) & Doris Gardner (paternal). Evan was a wonderful nephew and cousin to many more.
