PEMBERTON, Janie Marie - Of Flint, age 69, passed away peacefully from this earthy world on Friday, September 7, 2018.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Thursday, September 13, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2500 North Franklin Avenue, Flint,
Father Thomas Firestone officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church.
Visitation 10am Thursday at church until the time of the Mass.
Janie Marie Pemberton was born in Flint on November 17, 1948 the daughter of the late Marlin and Wilma Pemberton (Hall). Janie graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School, Class of 1967 and received a Fine Arts Degree from Mott Community College.
She was a proud Native American and a member of the Ojibwe Tribe of White Earth, Minnesota. She expressed a love of her heritage, and a strong belief in her faith, in the cards and art works of which she created. Her infectious laughter and love of family will be missed.
Janie is survived by her sisters Marlyn and husband Mike Lane and Wilma and husband Bill Forbes and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, John.
