JONES, DAN LENWOOD – Of Flint, age 86, died Monday, September 16, 2024 at Majestic Care of Flushing Assisted Living.
Lenwood was born in McColl, South Carolina on November 2, 1937, the son of the late Sam B. and Ruby Jones.
He married Emma Jean Hucks on June 4, 1955 in Dillon, South Carolina. They were married 66 years before Emma passed in 2022.
He was a member of Glad Tidings Tabernacle.
Mr. Jones worked for General Motors “Chevy in the Hole” UAW local #659, retiring in 1994, with 30 years of service.
Surviving are his children, Dan L. (Bonnie) Jones of Flint, C. Michael (Jan) Jones of Burton and Lynn D. Jones (fiancée, Sue Carter) of TN:
grandchildren, Shawn Jones, Erin Fisk, Christopher Jones, Lisa Eddy and Haley Jones;
12 great-grandchildren;
sisters, Peggy Fisher of Flint Township and Eloise Peppers of SC;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma; his parents; brother, Bill Jones; grandson, Jimmy Jones and grandson, Peyton Barringer.
There will be no service held. Those desiring may make a donation to a charity of their choice.
