CATANZARO, Louis J. – Of Grand Blanc, age 82, died Sunday, December 13, 2015 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road,
Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Per Louis’ request please dress casual for the service.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Wounded Warriors Project or Paralyzed Veterans.
Visitation 2-6 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Louis was born in Flint, Michigan on April 20, 1933, the son of Salvatore and Antonia (Scardina) Catanzaro.
He served is country in the U.S. Army, at the end of the Korean War.
On April 28, 1978 he married Janice Uptegraff in Flint.
Mr. Catanzaro was employed by Chevy in the Hole for 30 years, retiring in 1983 and was a member of UAW Local #659.
Surviving are wife, Janice;
Louis married Mary Jane Venne and together they had four children; Michelle Griffin, Marcia Christopher, Mark (Missy) Catanzaro and Matt Catanzaro;
step-son, Don Uptegraff;
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
sisters, Mary Kastner and Rosie Pryblkyski;
many nieces and nephews;
good friends, Jack and Ruth Myers, Ken O’Dell, Kathy Wicker, Phyllis Kotowicz and Marie Foerster.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Josie Callandra, Anita Luft and Jackie Plant.
