COSTELLO, Gerald Duane – of Birch Run, Michigan, age 87, died Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Frankenmuth. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Pastor Jim Chinery officiating. Burial in Birch Run Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the VFW Post 7542 in Birch Run, Michigan.
Gerald was born August 29, 1931 in Flint, Michigan to the late Roy and Nancy (McCollum) Costello. He was raised in Swartz Creek. On March 14, 1953 he married Julia Ann Kacsor. Gerald worked for Helfrecht Machine in Saginaw for many years and then worked at GM as a Machinist until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of VFW Post 7542 in Birch Run, Michigan. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, and sailing. Gerald also enjoyed singing and playing his harmonica at Wellspring.
Surviving are: Wife, Julia; Children, Michael (Sharon) Costello, Patricia Costello-De La Garza, Daniel Costello; Grandchildren, Steven Michael, Joey Lynn, Jeffrey; Siblings, Phillip Costello, Bill Costello, Carol Spalding, Genieva Rivard. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Brothers, Harold Troutt, Charles Costello, James Michael Costello.
