MEHARG, Alma Pearl (Wright). – of Mt. Morris, age 90, died Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Living Joy Assisted Living in Flushing. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6PM and Monday from 12-8PM. In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions directed to the Alzheimer’s Association of Ann Arbor.
Alma was born on April 19, 1924 in Otisville, Michigan to the late William and Pearl (Johnson) Wright. She graduated from Mio High School in 1942. Alma was the credit manager at Morrison’s for many years. She married Eldon Meharg on March 5, 1949 in Oscoda County, Michigan. He preceded her in death on February 27, 2013. In her younger years, Alma enjoyed going to the casino and traveling. She also enjoyed sewing, needle work, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and other loving family members.
Surviving are: son, Kenneth (Sue) Meharg of Prudenville; daughter, Penny Sue Ettinger of Grand Blanc; 13 grandchildren, Stephenie (Gabe) Labovitz, April (Alan) Voecks, Amika Meharg-Winder, Kenneth Meharg II, Michelle (Mark) Kincannon, Penelope (Tim) Sikes, Jennifer Graves, Michael (Katie) Thornton, Alissa (Brad) Naegle, Robert Ettinger, Jonathan Ettinger, Amy (Ken) North; George Ettinger III; special niece, Edna Pennington; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Meharg; son in law, George Ettinger II; siblings, Ina Wright, Russell Wright, Glen Wright, Alda Wright Parsell and William Wright.
