Seal, Alvin J. – of Montrose, age 89, died Friday, July 13, 2018, at Chesaning Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Bob Leming officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 12-8 PM, Monday from 10 AM – 8 PM, and Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM.
Alvin was born March 1, 1929, in Greenway, Arkansas to the late James and Anna (Duty) Seal. He served as a medic in the Army National Guard. Alvin was employed as Heavy Equipment Operator for several years. He married Frances Smith on June 19, 1954. She preceded him in death on March 20, 2006. He had resided in Montrose since 1967. Alvin was active with the Montrose and Clio Senior Centers. He enjoyed camping, dancing and bluegrass and gospel country music.
Surviving are: 6 children: Marna (Tom) Anderson of Yuma, AZ., Jim Seal of Gilbert, S.C., Brenda (Frank) Bueche of Montrose, Wesley (Verna) Seal of National City, Norman Seal of Montrose, Nancy (Dave) Bueche of Montrose; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren; Special friend, Velma (Ruby) Hutchins; Alvin was also preceded in death by 9 siblings, his son, Keith, and 3 grandchildren: Tina, Brad, and Tyler. The family would like to thank Jeri and the staff at Chesaning Nursing Home, as well as Great Lakes Hospice for their outstanding care and attention.
