Emma Jane Delduca - age 94 of St. Helen, Michigan, formerly of Grand Blanc, passed away Thursday, March 17th at the Durand Senior Care and Rehab Center. Cremation has taken place in respect to her wishes. No services are scheduled at this time, however, the family will gather later for private committal services. Necessary arrangements have been entrusted to Mowen Funeral Home – William A. Scarlett Memorial Chapel.
Emma was born February 9, 1917 in Greenbush, Michigan, the daughter of Norman and Mary (Morrison) McLeod. She was one of 10 children born into the family. She worked at McLaren Hospital in Flint for 20 years, working as an aide in the nursery - lovingly caring for the newborns. Emma was a former member of Bethany Baptist Church in Grand Blanc. Following her retirement, she moved north to St. Helen to be near family. She loved to work in her yard and flower garden and closely supervised anyone else working in her yard.
Those who cherish her memory include: daughters, Mary Redlawsk of West Branch and Norma Reigle of Nashville, Indiana; sons, Robert (Nancy) Root of Grayling and David E. (Linda) Root of Byron; daughters-in-law, Phyllis and Faye; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Pat Whitman of St. Helen and Peggy Kent of Bay City; special nephew, Danny Whitman and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three husbands; special friend, Gene North; two sons, William Root and Douglas Duncan Root; four brothers and three sisters.
