SMALLWOOD, AUDREY A. – Of Brownsburg, Indiana, formerly of Flint, age 98, died Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at her home.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Patricia Jarvis, the Care Team, officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Genesee County.
Audrey was born in Flint on May 6, 1926, and was married to John R. Smallwood on November 29, 1947.
She was a member of the Phoenix United Methodist Church and its Women’s Club.
She was a member of the Flint Lawn Bowling Club, Pierce Senior Center and Adventure s Travel Club. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, canning, sewing, working on puzzles, word search and knitting and crocheting.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Linda Sue and husband Bob Streeter of Brownsburg, Indiana, Sharon Kay Alexander of Davison, Michigan, Judy Ann and Tom Purdue of Burton, Michigan;
6 grandchildren, Rob Streeter and wife Jennifer of Arizona, Jeff Streeter of Arizona, Christina and husband Chris Herzog of Indiana, Shawn Morehouse and Kent Jones of Michigan, Karrie Larr of Minnesota, Amy and Phil Robrahn of Minnesota and
brother-in-law, Thomas Cannon.
She also left behind 12 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by husband, John R Smallwood; son-in- law, Jerry Alexander; brother, Fred and wife Dorothy Huson; sister, Suzanne Cannon and her parents, Fred and Grace Huson.
