STEVENS, Reverend George W. – Of Burton, age 62, died Tuesday, June9, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Richard Fulton officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
George was born in Flint, Michigan on April 1, 1953.
He served over 40 years in the ministry in New York City, Flint, Saginaw and Lansing. He is known as Pastor to thousands, but as "my good and faithful servant" to our LORD.
He leaves his loving wife of 42 years, Debra Ann Stevens;
his daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Jonathan Whan,
Christi and Andrew Hoops,
Deborah Stevens and
beloved grandchildren, Cameron George Whan, Nicole Whan, Gabriela Stevens, Ava Hoops, Jacob Hoops and George William Stevens;
sisters, Kelly and Nathaniel Mitchell,
Lou Ann Wright, Linda Minch, Brenda Stevens;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva Joyce Stevens; his brothers, John, Jim and Mike.
