BEAN, STEVEN DANIEL - Of Flushing, age 82, died Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Serenity Assisted Living.
Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
Visitation 5-8pm Friday, November 29, 2024 and 10am Saturday, November 30, 2024 until the time of the service at the Swartz Funeral Home, Flint.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Steven was born in Paragould, Arkansas on September 21, 1942, the son of the late William and Jennie (King) Bean.
Steven served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Ansbach, Germany.
Steven was employed 35 years with General Motors V8 Engine and 30 years as a UAW Committeeman ending his career in August of 2000 as Vice Chairman of the shop committee. He was an author and contributor to numerous political and labor relations focused articles for the UAW Local #659 Searchlight Publication.
Surviving are children, Steven Bean Jr., Rhonda (Jeffery) Ellis and John Bean;
grandchildren, Dennis (Karah) Caverly and their son, Carter, Ryan (Madeline) Ellis, Malary Bean, Marisa Jo and daughter, Maly and Lily Marie Bean.
Special gratitude to his best friend, Walter Duvernois, who was always there for him. "Solidarity Forever".
Also, special thank you to Serenity Assisted Living in Clio, MI and their staff and caregivers, especially Jordan Abuaita, who went above and beyond his family expectations for caring for Steve.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Bean; mother, Jennie King and father, William Roy Bean.
