LYDEN, Laurence J. – of Burton, age 79, passed away peacefully May 3, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be 1-7 PM on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. Cremation will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Genesee County or to a charity of one’s choice.
Laurence was born in Flint, MI on March 27, 1939, son of the late Lawrence and Ella (Herrman) Lyden. He married Glenda I. Sitzes on April 21, 1961 in Flint, MI. Laurence worked as a Police Officer for the City of Mt. Morris and Flint Township. He was also a floral designer many years ago. Larry previously worked as a Park Ranger at Genesee County Parks. He retired from GM in 1999 having served as a security guard as well as on the line. Larry enjoyed fishing and was a drummer many years ago for a local band called the ElDorados.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory, Glenda, his loving wife of 57 years; children, Rhonda (Jim) Niner, Michele (Edward) Tibbitt and Ginger (Michael) Bunting; grandchildren, Randall (Rose) McElfresh, Rachel Bunting, Karlie Bunting, Zachary Bunting and Kaitlyn Tibbitt; great-grandchild, Lilyana Ball.
