BAUMGART, Phyllis A. – of Mt. Morris Twp., age 81, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday, January 9, 2012 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Rev. Leonard Marks officiating. Burial will be at Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday 12-9 PM and on Monday from 12noon until time of services at 1 PM. Contributions may be made to the family.
Phyllis was born July 20, 1930 in Clio to the late Merton and Cecelia (Lalona) Scott. She lived in the Flint area her entire life. She married Edward Baumgart on July 7, 1950 in Pine Run. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2004. Phyllis worked at AC Spark Plug and Kresge’s for several years. She was active in many community functions and organizations such as Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4H, Krapohl Senior Center and others.
Surviving are: children, Rod (Sandy) Baumgart of OK, Cindy (Rick) Dinse of Flint, Brad Baumgart of Harrison, James Baumgart of Detroit, Merton Johnson of Grand Rapids; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 brothers; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: daughter, Sandra Johnson in 2001; and 2 brothers, Fred Scott in 2003 and Arthur Scott in 2009.
