KINNAMON, Jesse James – Of Commerce Township, Michigan, formerly of Flint, age 89, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Huron Valley Sinai Hospital in Commerce Township, Michigan.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, his grandson, Reverend Jamie Burkett officiating.
Burial of cremains at Flint Memorial Park.
Visitation 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Jesse was born in Flint, Michigan on September 15, 1929, the son of James Thomas and Nola (Malone) Kinnamon.
On February 27, 1957 he married Dottie Sue Conley in Bismark, Missouri.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army 1946-1948.
Jesse began his career with the City of Flint in 1951 as a Patrolman. He was promoted to Detective in 1962 and Detective Sergeant in 1969, retiring in 1974.
Surviving are children, Jim and wife Sandy Kinnamon, Margie and husband Robert Burkett and John Kinnamon;
8 grandchildren, Jodi and husband Jeff Davidson, Brandi and husband Chandler Capps, Cassie Hobbs, Jamison and wife Kelly Burkett, Jennifer and husband Grant Wheat, Jesse and wife Leia Burkett, Lauren Kinnamon and Alex Kinnamon;
numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Gary Kinnamon in 1970 and Bob Kinnamon in 2002; parents, siblings and friends.
