FUNCH, Shirley Mae "June Cleaver" - Age 84, of Fenton, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 28, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial immediately following in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
Shirley was born April 1, 1929 in Flint, the daughter of Francis Roland and Helen (Groh) Valley. She was a graduate of Flint Northern High School. She married George John Funch August 23, 1947 in Flint. She had resided in Fenton since 1998 coming from New Port Richey, FL.
Surviving are: her husband of 66 years, George; 3 children, Ranae and husband Jerry Willoughby of Fenton, Marklin and wife Terry Funch of Fenton, and Kindra Wright of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Steve Willoughby, Kerri Willoughby, David (Lisa) Funch, Robin (Kevin) Jernigan, Joshua (Elizabeth) Wright, and Wesley Wright; great grandchildren, Ryan, Bryan, Madison, Jenna, Makayla, Kara, Tara, Conor, and Jace; sister, Eileen and husband Carl Theodore; brother, Dennis and wife Maryann Valley of Goodrich; sister-in-law, Theresa Valley of Flint; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Roland and Donald Valley; and sisters, Donna Turner and Alta Hosler.
