KASSON, Thomas W. – of Montrose, age 71, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Rev. Eugene Smith officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-9 PM and Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM. Memorial contributions may be made McLaren Hospice.
Tom was born February 10, 1943 in Flint to the late John and Dorothy (Kessler) Kasson. He graduated from Flushing High School in 1961 and moved to Montrose in 1963. Tom married Patricia Hobson on May 25, 1963. She preceded him in death on June 18, 2011. Mr. Kasson retired in 1999 from Chevrolet after 39 years of service. He was a member of the UAW Local 659. Tom was a former Vice President of the Montrose Blueberry Festival and a longtime member. He and his wife Pat were honored as Grand Marshals in 2007. Tom enjoyed restoring antique cars, going to car shows and cruises.
Surviving are: daughter: Kelly (Barry) Burkholder of Milton, ON, Canada; 3 grandchildren: Bradley, Dylan and Chelsea; special friend, Eileen Brock. He was also preceded in death by his infant son, Thomas. Please sign our guest book or share an online condolence with the family at www.oguinnfh.com.
