at Brookdale Village
A Graveside Service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint, Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Ada was born in North Branch, Michigan on April 4, 1921, the daughter of Roy and Mary (Hart) Cobb, the last survivor of ten siblings. Ada Bell Cobb was a resident of Flint, Barnes Lake, Columbiaville, Michigan and Orlando, Florida.
Ada was married to Eugene Wilcox, Bernard (Buck) Rivette and Russell Thomas and they all preceded her in death.
Ada started work for the Flint Fire Department on January 16, 1956 and retired as the first female Administrative Assistant on December 1, 1978.
She loved the traditions of Christmas on the 4th of July, at the Lake, along with special Christmas Chicken and Black Cherry Jell-O.
Ada also enjoyed neighborhood card clubs, neighborhood caroling, neighborhood Halloween costume parties, gardening, sewing and her glass collection.
Ada had five children, Sharon Wilcox-Johnson and husband Harold Johnson, both deceased,
Larry Wilcox and wife Terri Wilcox, Larry, deceased of Columbiaville, MI,
Edward Rivette and wife Ruth Rivette of Lennon, MI,
David Rivette and wife Sherri Rivette of Alger, MI,
Dianne Rivette-Morrison and husband Larry Morrison of Jennings, FL;
12 grandchildren;
31 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren;
special friend, Anne Haughey of Davison, MI.
