Nancy J Somers
Age 73 of Owosso passed away Friday, August 16, 2024 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Monday, August 19, 2024 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Pastor Coleen Wilsdon officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Nancy was born April 23, 1951 in Owosso, the daughter of Robert and June (Wilson) Cross.
She was a member of Faith Community Church and United Methodist Church.
Nancy enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and watching Heartland. She looked forward to being a Respite Volunteer, spending time with her dog Chewy and playing rumikub with her children. Nancy loved her family and was a mother to many.
Nancy was employed with the State of Michigan Department of Human Services for over 30 years, mostly in the Genesee County Pierson Road Office.
Nancy is survived by her children, Kammie Mead of Lansing, Jannel Somers of Durand, and Brad Somers of Kalamazoo; granddaughter, Dani Noe; siblings Rick Cross of Gladwin, Randolph (Yvonne) Cross of Owosso, Dennis (Linda) Cross of Perry; 6 nephews Mike, Jim, Joe, Matt, Abe and Logan; 2 great nieces; 4 great nephews; very special friend, Ed Woods; best friend, Cindy Campbell; and other loving family and friends.
