Vanessa L. Tobias
Age 62 of Clio passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel with John James officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Road Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 9 from 3:00 to 8:00pm.
Vanessa was born on May 14, 1954 to Elmer C. and Joan F. (Courter) Wirt in Owosso. She graduated from Chesaning High School, and she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Northwood University.
During her life, Vanessa worked as a secretary for Michigan Works and Fidelity Mortgage. She enjoyed reading and taking walks, and she was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter.
Vanessa is survived by her mother, Joan Wirt; her son, Chase (Kelly) Tobias; her daughter, Megan (Jonathan) Painter; her granddaughter, Ambria Tobias; her fiance, Michael Kozma; her siblings, Rick (Christine) Wirt, Kimberly (Robert) Terry, Bryan Wirt, and Julie (Richard) Leadford; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
She is predeceased by her father, Elmer Wirt.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Association.
