Fitch, Junior D. “Ruddie” of Flushing, age 85, died Sunday, January 22, 2017, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Bud Welton will officiate. A private burial will take place at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4-8 Friday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell General Baptist Church or the Epilepsy Foundation.
Junior was born in Marmaduke, Arkansas, on August 13, 1931, the son of Rudy and Pearl (Jarvis) Fitch. He married OmaJean Armstrong on June 9, 1951, in Flint. Ruddie worked for Buick Motor Division for over 38 years, retiring in 1988. He was an active member of Hopewell General Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School Superintendent. Ruddie enjoyed gardening and tending to his yard. He loved music, playing the guitar and singing. Ruddie also enjoyed computers and card making for his family and friends. He was a devoted husband and loving caretaker to his wife.
Ruddie is survived by his wife of 65 years, OmaJean; children, Duane and wife Margo Fitch of North Carolina, Janet and husband Steve Ottarski of Saginaw, David and wife Janice Fitch of Sterling Heights; grandchildren, Max, Adam, Adrienne, Candice, Amber, Nicole, Brandon; seven amazing great-grandchildren whom he adored; and brother, Leon and Barbara Fitch. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gerald Fitch. |
