Arita J. Yeager Good, 84, of Houghton Lake passed away Monday October 25, 2010 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Arita was born on May 8, 1926 in Gladwin to the late Byron and Gertrude(Faler) Hager. She grew up in the Gladwin area where she graduated from Gladwin High School in 1944. Arita was married in Gladwin on November 12, 1944 to Grayden J. “Bud” Yeager, and he preceded Arita in death in 1993. The couple owned and operated Yeager’s Lake and Stream Party Store on the West Shore of Houghton Lake for over 30 years. Arita was also married in Houghton Lake in 1995 to Rex Good, and he preceded her in death in 2005. She was a member of the Gladwin Moose Lodge, Houghton Lake Eagles, and attended the Community of Christ Church in Houghton Lake.
Surviving Mrs. Good are three loving daughters, Joan(Dave) Yeager McMullen of Gladwin, Susan(Robert) Wolschon of Harrison, and Carol(Robert) Harrison of Merritt; one loving son, Grayden James(Vikki) Yeager of Houghton Lake; 8 dear grandchildren and 29 dear great grandchildren; six beloved sisters, Catherine Lynk of Lake George, Margaret Denton, of Midland, Mary(George) Ouelette of Kawkawlin, Connie(Pat) Kalahar of Davison, Karen Hager of Midland, and Jeanie(Skip) Burgress of Midland; four beloved brothers, Jack(Lucy) Hager of New York, Donald(Pat) Hager of Prudenville, Lawrence(Barbara) Hager of Indian River, and Joe(Carol) Hager of Chesaning; several nieces and nephews. Arita was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her granddaughter, Carrie Barclay, and her brother Byron Hager.
Funeral services for Mrs. Arita J. Yeager Good will be conducted 1:00PM Thursday October 28, 2010 at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel with Jon Bigford officiating. Burial will be in Lake Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel on Wednesday October 27, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00PM; and on Thursday from 11:00AM until the service at 1:00PM. Those wishing to make memorial donations in Arita’s memory are asked to direct them to the wonderful caregivers at The Brook of Houghton Lake. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel served the family.
