HUBER, Carl Robert “Bob” – Of Flint, age 87, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Avalon Hospice.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Unity Christian Church, 5255 South Linden Road, Swartz Creek, Reverend Brenda Etheridge officiating.
Visitation 12-8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Huber will be at the church for viewing from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Unity Christian Church or Durand Union Station.
Carl was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan on November 25, 1925, the son of George and Marie Huber and was a resident of Flint and Durand all of his life.
He served with the US Army Air Corp during World War II in the European Campaign with the 775th Squadron, 463rd Bomb Group.
Carl married Nancy Dunn on December 22, 1947, in Flint and she preceded him in death on February 25, 2009.
He was a member of Unity Christian Church, a volunteer with the Durand Depot, a member of the Durand Locomotion Square Dance Club, and a Boy Scout Leader for many years.
Mr. Huber retired from General Motors and EDS in 1988 after 42 years of service.
Surviving are 7 children, Gerald and wife Carla,
James and wife Ann,
Karen and husband Roger Crist,
Joseph and wife Roxanne,
Carla and husband Ron Gibson,
Catherine and husband Karl Danz,
John and wife Anne;
19 grandchildren;
26 great-grandchildren;
one sister, Lorraine Maples;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his parents; sister, Patricia Miller and his brother, Lawrence.
