TALJONICK III, Richard Joseph “Rick/Ricky” – Of Durand, age 43, died Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Wellbridge of Fenton.
Funeral service will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Deacon Jim Corder officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to his family.
Visitation 12 – 3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road and 12:30 p.m. Monday until time of the service.
Richard was born on May 19, 1975 the son of Richard Joseph Jr. and Pamela (Edwards) Taljonick. He attended Kearsley High School and he graduated from University of Michigan Flint with a Bachelor of Psychology. Rick married Joann Jimenez on September 22, 2006.
Rick was an avid lover of many things; car shows, concerts, craft beer, Christmas lights, monster trucks, Detroit and MSU sports, but most of all family and friends. He never met a stranger, as is evident by all the waitresses, baristas, store clerks, ice cream scoopers, and line waiters that he befriended. Not to mention the friends throughout his childhood into adult- hood that today are broken-hearted.
His goal in life was to teach his boys and brother to be the men his dad would be proud of; the man he aspired to be, the one he was, but never could believe he was. He loved and respected all the women in his life, always striving to treat them like the queens they are. With family being one of the most important aspects of his life, he believed in the importance of family gatherings. He may have been the last to arrive, but he brought the party and was the last to leave. It is safe to say Rick loved family.
Rick flies with the angels, a place he always longed to be.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Joann;
sons, Gage Joseph Eplett and Richard Joseph Taljonick IV;
mother, Pamela Taljonick;
siblings, Jonathan (Roxanne) Taljonick, Carrie Crump and Garron Crump;
nieces and nephews, David, Andrew, Samuel, Mariah, Bradley, Dana, Gabriel, Brent, Abigail and Kash;
great niece, Caidence;
father-in-law, Raymond Jimenez (Patricia Gibbons);
sisters-in-law, Kathryn (David) Eicke, Ramona (Dean) Gale, Rebecca (Steven) Berriman and Ann (Brian) Bayley;
close friends, Carlos, Josh, Maria, Eric, Mark, Rob, Ryan and Ben.
Special thanks to Reverence Hospice, the staff at Wellbridge of Fenton; neighbor, Jim and caregiver, Tammy for all their loving care.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Joseph Taljonick Jr.; mother-in-law, Geraldine Jimenez and sister-in-law, Karen Jimenez.
