BURCH, Charles Lewis – of Burton, MI, age 84, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020. A Funeral Service, with Military Honors, will be held 12 PM Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Aaron Whitman officiating. Interment in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-8 PM Wednesday, January 15, 2020 and 11 AM-12 PM Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Old Newsboys of Flint, in memory of Charles.
Charles was born in Flint, MI on October 5, 1935, son of the late Halley and Thelma (Abbott) Burch. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956-1960. Charles married Joan L. Bosman on August 25, 1956 and she preceded him in death on October 7, 2013. He retired from General Motors after more than 30 years of service. Charles was a huge auto enthusiast and enjoyed taking his cars to car shows and cruises. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing when he was younger.
Charles is survived by 3 children, Chuck Burch, Ronald Burch and Debbie Johns; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Leland (Kathy) Burch, Kenneth (Sharon) Burch, Edward (Pam) Smith, Eugene (Donna) Shultz and Garey (Debbie) Shultz; sister, Shirley (Richard) Gean; dear friend, Betty Madison; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Halley and Thelma Burch; wife of 57 years, Joan L. Burch; daughter, Eugenia “Jean” Thick; sister, Karine Shultz.
