GEURIN, Melba Ruth - Of Grand Blanc, age 92 went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 5, 2012 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Road, Grand Blanc,
Pastor Jerry Harms officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Faith Lutheran Church or Avalon Hospice.
Melba will be at the church 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service.
Melba was born in Alpena, MI on February 28, 1920, the daughter of the late Reinhold and Emma (Pollatsch) Marek and was a resident of Grand Blanc since 1956 moving from Flint. She married James Geurin on March 21, 1943 in Flint, he passed away April 2004. Melba was a Dental Assistant for 30 years with Dr. Ervin Sill, retiring in 1967. She was a founding member of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc and a member of the Genesee Hills Country Club.
Surviving are son, Lawrence and wife Monica Geurin of Burton;
daughters, Melba Jean and husband John Couch of Davison and Christine and husband Roby Statzer of Burton;
grandchildren, Jim, Angela, Tori, Rebecca, Forrest and wife Heather, and Emily;
step-grandchildren, Tammy Upper, Tonya Mathews and Pietra Zalbeski;
great-grandchildren, John and wife Jeannie Gassel, Madeline and Josephine Couch, Michael, Cody and Kay Metivier;
great-great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Johnny Gassel, and Sawyer McGwire.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Esther Kindt and Helene Neumann.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Linda, Brandi, Tammy, and Ellen at Avalon Hospice for their care.
