RANCOURT, Vance L. – of Clio, age 87, died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Maple Woods Manor. Mass of Christian Burial in memory of Vance will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 9, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 11110 N. Saginaw St. in Mt. Morris. Cremation to follow with inurnment in Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Friday from 2-8 PM and at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until time of Mass at 11 AM. A Rosary will be prayed at the funeral home on Friday at 6 PM followed by a 4th Degree and 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus memorial. Contributions may be made to Neurofibromatosis or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Vance was born January 19, 1929 in Standish, MI to the late Leslie and Marion (Hartwick) Rancourt. He was a resident of Clio for over 37 years. He served in the US Army. Vance married Joyce Bowsher on June 18, 1951. Mr. Rancourt retired from Ternstedt in 1983 with over 30 years seniority. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Mt. Morris Council and the UAW Local #326. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, reading, playing crossword puzzles and carving.
Surviving are: Wife, Joyce; Children: Vance (Michelle) Rancourt of Mt. Morris, Michelle (Roger) Gauthier of Clio, LeeAnn (Kris) Peltonen of Clio, Cynthia (Michael) Blake of Swartz Creek; Grandchildren: Jeremy Gauthier, Jason (Nicole) Gauthier, Ashely (Justin) Grizzle, Jake (Jessie) Rancourt, Kristen (Seth) Klempner, Anthony (Krissy) Blake, Randi (Jarrod) Cherwinski; 6 Great Grandchildren.
