DENEEN, Shirley A. -- Age 87, of Flushing, died November 20, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday, November 25 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Friday and 10AM until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Carriage Town Ministries.
Shirley was born January 14, 1930 in Flint the daughter of William and Winnifred (Morris) Coffron. She was a school teacher for 22 years with the Swartz Creek School District. She received a Bachelors Degree at Albion College and a Masters Degree at University of Michigan. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church. Shirley loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards with a special group of ladies every Friday. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, bowling and traveling, baking and cooking.
She is survived by her children, Gregory (Edith) Deneen, Darci (Rick) Hurst, Bethany (John) Kelley, Debbie (Brian) Smith; grandchildren, Caci, Johnny, Jared, Sheri, Mallory, Julia, Connor and Bryce; great grandchildren, Little John and Briggs; sister, Barbara Radke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Coffron; fiance Jack Jewett.
