PHELPS, Ethel A. (Brady) – of Flushing, MI, formerly of Flint, MI, age 96, passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, March 7, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. John M. Machiorlatti celebrant. Interment immediately following the Mass in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 2-8 PM Friday, March 6, 2020 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Saturday, March 7, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Friday, March 6, 2020 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hyde Park Assisted Living Baruch Senior Ministries, online at www.baruchsls-hyde-park.kindful.com or by mail at 3100 Wyndham Drive, Flushing, MI 48433 or Heart to Heart Hospice, online at www.htohhfoundation.org or by mail at 2029 Elms Road, Suite A, Swartz Creek, MI 48473 in Ethel’s memory.
Ethel was born in Onaway, MI on January 13, 1924, daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Sandison) Brady. She married Clare Phelps on January 22, 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1996. She retired as a Machine Operator from General Motors in 1980. Ethel was a member of the catholic church.
Ethel is survived by 8 children, Victoria (Gary) Molloseau, Sandra Bell, Arla Uhrig, Lisa (Curt) Christner, Cynthia (Larry) Dunning, Frances (Mark) Altvater, Kristine Klein and Donna (John) Taylor; daughter-in-law, Mary Phelps; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clare Phelps; son, Darrell “Scott” Phelps; son-in-law, Doyne Uhrig; brother, Earl Brady and sister, Hilda “Tommy” Brasseau.
