MORGAN, James A. “Jim” – age 74 of Grand Blanc, MI passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at The Pines of Clarkston after a long illness. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 2PM-8PM. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 11AM at Faith Lutheran Church – 12534 Holly Rd. Grand, Blanc, MI with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Todd Beirmann officiating. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Jim was born on August 2, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio to James Glenn and Elaine Louise (Morris) Morgan. After high school he attended Miami of Ohio. Upon graduation he entered the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. On October 1, 1999 Jim married Lynn Schinnerer at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Flint, MI. Jim was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc, MI. He enjoyed gardening and was a terrific handyman. Jim also took pride in his skill of ballroom dancing with his wife Lynn. Most of all, he loved working with dogs, often mentioning that he was “training people for dogs.” Jim retired from General Motors in 2006 after 37 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Lynn Morgan; son, Scott Morgan; daughter, Julie (Peter) Morgan-Reitmeyer; brothers, Edward (Traci) Morgan and Philip Morgan; sister, Cynthia (Alan) Broad; sister-in-law, Lois (Brian) Jankow; brother-in-law, Lloyd (Laura) Schinnerer, and several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Jean who passed away in 1982. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Amy Daros and Heart to Heart Hospice for all of the loving care and compassion they gave to Jim and his family. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Alzheimer’s Disease Research or the Genesee County Humane Society. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.hillfh.com. |
