NICOLAI, Pearl M. – of Davison, age 82, died peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on February 20, 2015. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, February 23, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6336 Roberta St., Burton; Rev. Fr. Carl Simon celebrant. Cremation will follow the Mass. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Sunday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Sunday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Ezra Fund.
Pearl was born in Flint, MI on September 22, 1932, daughter of the late Coleman and Helen (Kempf) Dobosh. She graduated from Flint Central High School. Pearl married William “Bill” Nicolai on April 23, 1960 in Flint, MI. She was an organist at St. Joseph Hungarian Church for 20 years and at Blessed Sacrament for 25 years. Pearl volunteered at the Hungarian Festival. She worked at Buick Motor Division as a Key Punch Operator. Pearl enjoyed cooking, shopping and bingo, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Pearl is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bill; children, Bill (Debbie) Nicolai, Anne (Robert) Ptaszenski, Chuck (Crystal) Nicolai, Michelle (Rick) Hoffmeyer and Dominic (Molly) Nicolai; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her four sisters and four brothers-in-law. The family would like to say a special thank you to the people of Absolute Home and Hospice, especially Janis Vieau, MSN who made Pearl’s transition much easier.
