SIMON, Frances Mary (Sitko) – of Davison, age 100, passed away July 29, 2013 at Cranberry Park Memory Care of Clio. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Rev. Fr. George Puthenpeedika celebrant. Burial will follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 pm Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Wednesday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed 5:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church – Building Fund.
Frances was born March 9, 1913 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Sitko. She married John Bernard Simon on November 13, 1943 and he preceded her in death on December 5, 1972. Frances was a secretary to Purchasing Agents at Chevrolet Manufacturing and Fisher Body Ternstedt with 30 years of service. She was a member of the Industrial Business Women’s Club, Bowling and Golf Leagues, Dom Polski, All Saints Rosary Society and World Apostolate of Fatima. She had been a member of St. Agnes Parish where she was a choir member and bingo worker, St. John the Evangelist Parish where she was a member of the Altar Society, member of the 50 and Over Club and a greeter and finally Holy Rosary Parish. Frances was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards with family and playing Bingo.
Frances is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Edward, Thomas and Ann Marie Simon; sister-in-law, Kathryn Sitko, dear nieces and nephews, Ronald (Janet) Chema, Carolyn (Robert) Gunterman, Gary (Lynne) Sitko, Janice (Paul) Easter, Robert (Barbara) Sitko, Kathleen (Larry) Dutcher, Kenneth Sitko, Donald (Kris) Sitko, Diana Sitko and James (Tamara) Sitko. She was preceded in death by her sister, Stella (John) Chema; brothers, Theodore, Walter (Charline) Sitko, Chester, Thaddeus (Agnes) Sitko and Eugene Sitko. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Cranberry Park Memory Care of Clio and At Home Hospice for all their special care.
