Hobert Elwood English was born in Lake City, Michigan on February 18th 1921 and passed away October 30th 2016 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Born to Leon Elwood English and Millicent Florence Chapman. Mr. English was proceeded in death by siblings Richard English, Everett English, Ross English, Glen English, Elmer English, Mildred Reigle and Della Stotz; surviving is his sister Mrs. Opal (James) Heath of Falmouth, Michigan. Hobert English married the love of his life, Betty Lou Choate, on September 3, 1949; before her passing on January 15, 2013. They were married for 62 wonderful years. Hobert is survived by his son Craig (wife Jennifer and sons William & Robert); his daughter Lynnann Hunt and her children Justin Hunt (wife Tiffany and daughters Madelyn & Brooklyn) and Tara Hunt and daughter Jennifer Stromlund (husband Kurt and son Nicholas).
****Mr. English served in the Pacific Theater during WWII and was a tool maker for General Motors before retiring after 43 years of service. Mr. English was a volunteer with the National Ski Patrol at Mt. Holly for 27 years and received his National Appointment. He also volunteered at Comcast as a cameraman for many years. Hobert was a member of Silver Lake Ski Club, Flint Carvers Club and the Flint Rock and Gem Club. Hobert took great pride in being one of the first Ultralight Aircraft pilots in the state of Michigan. During his life time Hobert and his wife Betty were very active with travel, gardening, roller skating, water skiing and snow skiing. Hobert and Betty also enjoyed the friendship of many very special family and friends. A special thank you to Joe and Alice Coyner.
