JONES, Goldie R. – of Flint, age 86, went to be with her Lord while peacefully sleeping on October 14, 2017. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Friday, October 20, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 706 W. Flint St., Davison; Pastor Todd Frusti officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Autism Awareness or the Trinity Building Fund.
Goldie was born in Mavie, MN on September 2, 1931, daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Hruby) Habedank. She married former husband, Joseph Sheridan on November 28, 1948 and she married current husband, Dennis Jones on May 25, 1974. Goldie was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Davison, where she assisted with (MOPS) Mothers of Pre-schoolers, for many years. She worked as a letter carrier for 26 ½ years. Goldie loved the outdoors, camping and taking long nature walks with her children and grandchildren.
Goldie is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dennis; former husband, Joseph Sheridan; children, Wayne (Vicky) Sheridan of Colorado Springs, CO, Carol Ferguson (Charles) of Mt. Morris, MI, Wendy (Larry) Bosely of Lecanto, FL, Jason (Cheryl) Sheridan of Vermontville, MI, Jeff (Darlene) Sheridan of Braselton, GA; stepchildren, Ken (Diana) Jones of Flint, MI, Jerry (Yvonne) Jones of Clio, MI; grandchildren, Phillip Sheridan, Mike Bosely, Kara Bosely, Matthew Ferguson, Brian Ferguson, Yulanda Sheridan, Garnet Sheridan, Mandy Conner, Chelsea Reed, Jody Heard, Lisa Young, Adam Jones, Ryan Jones and Eric Jones; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Pearl Adamson, Freda Hemmesch, Arvilla Hastad of Thief River Falls, MN, Gary Habedank of Sandstone, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
