Cristina C. (Mancillas) MARTINEZ age 99, passed Saturday October 12th at home surrounded by her loving family. “Concha” was born in San Luis Potosi, MX on July 24th, 1925. She was the last living child of Pedro and Francisca (Ramirez) Mancillas.
Cristina married Antonio Martinez, raising 10 children in Flint, MI. She loved to take walks in her yard, tending to her many flower gardens and watching the large variety of birds that hung out at the bird feeders in the front yard, and looking out at her back fields watching her wild turkeys, deer and wildlife as they passed through.
She enjoyed cooking and making you eat, watching her shows and the occasional trip to the casino for penny slot action. She was also a master marksman with a “chancla”, and could keep knuckleheads in line from great distances. She also truly loved her car rides these last few years to sightsee the flowers in Frankenmuth.
She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, but her memories will forever be in our hearts.
Cristina is survived by her children, Armando (Michelle), Ricardo, Pablo (Sherry), David and Eduardo (April), daughter in law, Juanita, her glorious grandchildren, great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren!
Cristina is preceded in death by her parents, former spouse, Antonio, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, her children Jose, Ruben, Francisca (Alvin), Consuelo and infant Francisca.
A visitation for Cristina will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home - 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439 followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Cristina will be laid to rest at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint, Michigan. |
