COURTEMANCHE, Robert L. - Age 86, of Swartz Creek, died January 22, 2014 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Saturday January 25, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-9 Friday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Lupus Foundation.
Robert was born May 4, 1927 in Bay County, MI, the son of Walter C. and Clare E. (Hall) Courtemanche. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1945-1947. He married Noreen E. Roscoe on June 6, 1948; she preceded him in death on January 18, 1994. Robert retired from Buick on May 4, 1987 after 40 years of service. He served as Secretary and Treasurer for the Lupus Foundation in the late 1970's. His favorite pastime after his retirement was going to the casinos with his niece and her husband Sue and Doug McDevitt.
Surviving are: 3 sons, Robert J. (Cathy) of Cornersville, TN, David L. (Karen) of Lynnville, TN., Timothy W. (Carolyn J.) of Swartz Creek; grandsons, John, Robbie, Danny, Jeffery, Christopher, Tony, Brian; granddaughter, Ashley; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Gatra Molinari.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Noreen; son, Bruce; sister Dorothy Lamphier; brother Victor; and faithful companion, his dog Salsa.
