SANBORN, Donna Jeanne – of Clio, age 89, died Friday, May 15, 2020 at Hurley Medical Center. A private Graveside Service will be held at Flint Memorial Park and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church (click here for options) or the Order of Eastern Star, Vienna Chapter #283.
Donna was born March 28, 1931 in Clio, Michigan to the late Clayton and Edna (McHugh) Scott. She resided in Clio her entire life and graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1949. On April 2, 1950 she married Robert W. Sanborn in Clio, Michigan and he preceded her in death February 26, 2019.
Donna was an equal partner and responsible for much of the success of their business, according to her husband Bob. Donna was selfless, and always put her family first. She was a wonderful mother and wife. She was a person with great character and faith. Her hobbies were her family, flower and vegetable gardening, sewing, and traveling with her husband. She also was a fabulous cook, and made the best pies on earth. Being a farmer's daughter, she always commented on the weather, like her dad.
Donna was active in the Clio community throughout her life. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Vienna Chapter #283 - Order of the Eastern Star, United Methodist Women, the Clio Historical Society and many others. Donna supported many charities.
Surviving are: Children, Dennis (Kim) Sanborn, LuAnn (Tom) Smith, Kent (Debbie) Sanborn, Philip (Elizabeth) Sanborn; Grandchildren, Erik (Krissie) Sanborn, Brett Sanborn, Amanda (Harvey) Schaefer, Samantha (Michael) Repka, Scott Smith, Nathaniel (Ellie) Sanborn; Great Grandchildren, Ethan Sanborn, Harper Sanborn, and an additional great granddaughter expected this fall (Mike and Samantha Repka), sisters-in-law Marylee Scott, Judy Crandall and Lorraine Sanborn: many nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her Parents; brothers (Clayton, and Richard), and Husband, Robert W. Sanborn.
