THOMPSON, Arthur W. - Of Davison, age 90, died Thursday, March 28, 2019 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor John Vannest
officiating.
Burial in Davison Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Davison Free Methodist Church, 502 Church Street, Davison, MI 48423.
Visitation 1 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Arthur was born in Elba Township, Michigan on September 18, 1928.
On March 22, 1951 he married Shirley Fitts.
He served in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic. He was a custodian for Hill Elementary for over 30 years and also was the Sexton for Davison Cemetery.
Arthur was a very hard worker and always stayed busy.
He loved kids and was a good role model. Above all, he enjoyed going up north and spending time with his family.
Surviving are wife, Shirley Thompson;
children, Reverend Larry (Joanne) Thompson, Janet (Allen) Young and Susan Thompson;
9 grandchildren;
many great-grandchildren;
brother, John (Donna) Fritts.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret Freer; adoptive parents, Frank and Beulah Thompson; three brothers and one sister.
